you will read this when god knows you are ready
Hello everybody! Welcome back to another blog post! Oh my goodness friends I’ve missed you! I’m sorry that I was a little MIA for a bit- I needed some time to rest and reset in the Lord. My life’s been a little bit of a whirlwind lately. It’s so important and crucial to take these times of rest with the Lord; like having a Sabbath day every week. Because if you are just constantly running at 100% speed all the time, then you are not going to be able to run the full race that God has for you well. So let this be your sign to rest and be refreshed by the presence of God- let Him be your strength and your peace!
But I am so glad to be back with y’all! :) How have y’all been?!
Something that the Lord has just been weighing very heavy on my heart is the topic of not giving up on your faith. Not giving up on God even when everything around you looks impossible. And not only that but not giving up on your prayers- to continue hoping in the Lord even when it seems hopeless.
There have been many times in my life when I was praying and praying and praying for something to happen. And not only something for me but also breakthrough for somebody else. There were times when breakthrough did come, but then I had these other areas of my life that looked impossible. I am still praying for some of these things that haven’t happened yet; breakthrough for this person or in this area. Maybe you can relate, maybe you’ve prayed or have been praying those kind of prayers-where you just lay on the floor and plead with God for breakthrough. I just want to remind you today, that God does hear your prayers, and He does care. Abba does care!! It says in Psalm 66:17-20:
“For I cried out to Him for help, praising Him as I spoke. If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw His unfailing love from me.”
and in 1 John 5:14-
“And we are confident that He hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him.”
There are so many more verses in the Bible that talk about how God DOES hear our prayers; I can’t list them all there are so many! Friend, God sees you. He loves you. He will always pour out His unfailing love on you. And He is so trustworthy! He is our hope! It says in Psalm 62:5
“Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him.”
Even when our circumstances look hopeless- even when it looks like the breakthrough may never come, we can still have hope. Because our hope doesn’t come from our circumstances- it come from Jesus and Jesus alone. Real, true hope, comes from the everlasting, never changing One. And this perfect, unconditional One, always has our best in mind. So when we are crying out, and pleading with God, with tears streaming down our faces on the floor, we can trust that Abba does hear and see us. Even if nothing changes after that! It may be days, weeks, months before breakthrough comes. Yes it may be so difficult and challenging at times- but let’s look at this time from a different perspective. These are opportunities for us to grow in our faith; to grow closer to God and become stronger in our prayer life! We can’t just get into the secret place and want to grow on the mountaintops! When we are in the valleys, we need to let God carry us up to the mountaintops- this happens through surrender, through just trusting Him with all that we are. Don’t give up on your faith just because things around you don’t make sense! I know that sometimes having faith is really hard, when everything just looks impossible. There’s this definition of faith that I’ve heard that says something along the lines of “Faith is only faith because you are believing in the things that are unseen. Having faith is believing in the things that have not happened yet.” Don’t give up on God. Even when you feel hopeless and weak. In the Word, God says that we get to rejoice in our weaknesses because then He can be strong for us (2 Corinthians 12:9). So in these times we can lean on God more, and let Him carry us through if we just surrender and trust in His plan. We can’t do it on our own. And God is a a Father of promises- and He is a promise keeper! He never lies, and He never breaks a promise. In His Word, He says that
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." 1 Corinthians 2:9
and in Romans 8:28:
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.”
These are His promises to you. He loves you and has prepared as amazing portion for you. He has called you, has made you for a purpose. And so this is the time when we need to just surrender, and hope in God, not in the results, not in the circumstances. Just Abba. Abba cares enough to provide the breakthrough- for you, for the people that you’ve been praying for. Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Keep on praying those prayers- even if you have prayed them over and over and over again. It says in Matthew:
“Keep on asking, and you will recieve what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, recieves. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
And then it even continues to say this in verses 9-11:
“You parents- if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him.”
wow- God is the Father of good gifts, and He wants to give them to us. We just need to earnestly seek Him! Abba is so proud and pleased with unwavering, all-in faith in Him! He is pleased when we have abundant faith and earnestly seek Him! When we give up control it allows Him to take it and just do His thing! It won’t be in our timeline, but the end result will be the best it could ever be because God did it! So no matter what is going on around you, go get in the secret place. Get on your face and surrender. Pray those bold, seemingly crazy prayers. Give Abba all your faith, hope and trust. And see what He does.
And don’t just let this be a one time surrender type of thing. If you truly want to see breakthrough in your life, or in your families/friends lives, then everyday get in your secret place and lay it at the King’s feet. And anytime you feel yourself trying to grab onto the situation yourself; anytime you find yourself striving to conjure up breakthrough, take a step back and lay it back on the altar. Cling to the promises and truth your Abba has given you in His perfect Word. Say them over and over and over again until they are rooted in your heart. Be persistent in your prayers, live in a place of abundant faith. And know that you can use this hard season to grow in God like you never have before.
Don’t give up on your faith, don’t stop loving and pursuing God. He has never given up on you, so don’t give up on Him.
Breakthrough will come. Do you believe that? If so, pray like you do.
Thank you so much for reading friend! I love you and am so proud of you! Keep pursuing, surrendering, and trusting the Lord today. This is a daily decision that we have to make, but there is so much freedom on the other side of your surrender! Also can we do something AMAZING today? Can we tell somebody about the amazing message and love of Jesus? Tell somebody how He has changed your life and that He can change theirs too?! Let’s live out our faith together!
